22.22 On what legal basis is the profile characteristic “online study programme” reviewed?

Online study programmes are what are known as study programmes with a specialized profile. According to Section 12(6) of the MRVO, study programmes with a specialized profile “feature a coherent study programme concept that appropriately reflects the specific characteristics of the profile.”

The explanatory notes to Section 12(6) of the MRVO cite “virtual” as an example of a special profile characteristic. The reason the FAQ refers to the profile characteristic “online” or “online study programme” is that this term is more commonly used in practice and can be selected in the ELIAS master data as well as on the cover page of the accreditation report template.
