Prof. Dr. Dr. Hon. (University of Turku, Finland) Hans Gruber is a professor emeritus of education at the University of Regensburg. His research focuses on expertise research, workplace learning, eye tracking, and network analysis. He served as president of the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI), as vice president for academic affairs at the University of Regensburg, and as a member of the German Research Foundation’s (DFG) Expert Committee on Educational Science. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of *Educational Research Review* and Chairperson of the University Council at the Weingarten University of Education. For over 15 years, he served as a member of the ACQUIN Accreditation Commission and acted as a reviewer in numerous system accreditation, institutional accreditation, and audit accreditation procedures both in Germany and abroad.
