Prof. Dr. Anna Wolf has been a professor of music education in digital contexts at the FRANZ LISZT University of Music in Weimar since 2023. Anna Wolf earned her bachelor’s degree in musicology at the University of Bremen and subsequently pursued a master’s degree in “Music, Mind, and Brain” at Goldsmiths College, University of London. After earning her Ph.D. on the development of a competency-based assessment for aural training (Hannover University of Music, Drama, and Media, 2015), she worked at the University of Hamburg and as a consultant for institutional development at the HMTMH.
Her research focuses on, among other things, the assessment of musical skills, as well as the perception and impact of music. In addition, her research and teaching focus on the use of various music-related formats in the digital space and on the role of digital technology and AI for aspiring musicians and music teachers.
Anna Wolf was involved in the further development and reaccreditation of the music teacher education programs, as well as in participatory accreditation procedures to develop a new university structure. She has headed the Institute for Music Education and Church Music since 2025.
