Prof. Dr. Christiane Jost (1962) studied economics at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. After graduating, she spent a year abroad at the University of Sussex in Brighton from 1987 to 1988, where she gained a Master of Science in Mathematics. She completed her doctorate in 1994 at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich on a risk management topic in the insurance sector. Her professional career at KPMG, Helvetia Insurance and later as an independent consultant also focused on insurance and insurance risk management.
In 2001, she was appointed professor of insurance business administration at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden. There, she taught numerous courses in the areas of property and casualty insurance, specialized business administration, and corporate governance. From 2003 to 2008, she also served as associate dean of the department, where she oversaw the transition from diploma programs to bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. From 2010 to 2025, she served as vice president for academic affairs, teaching, and International Affairs. This period saw the introduction of Quality Management in academic programs and teaching, which culminated in system accreditation in 2022. She participated in accreditation processes in numerous different roles. From 2013 to 2025, Christiane Jost was a member of the Board of ACQUIN e.V.
Christiane Jost is also involved in various Bodies, committees and networks at national and international level. These include her membership of the Learning & Teaching Steering Committee of the European University Association and the University Council of the University of Koblenz. She is a member of Lehre^n and acts as a peer review report for various organizations.
