Dr. Andreas Grünes (1981) studied Modern German Literature, Modern History and Art History in Giessen. As a research assistant at the LOEWE focus area “Cultural Techniques and their Medialization”, he conducted research on knowledge, archive and editing processes in changing media with research stays in Copenhagen, Łódź and Warsaw. As part of his doctorate, he was a member of the International Affairs Graduate Center for the Study of Culture Giessen. His dissertation “Suchen und Finden. Editorial Commentary as a Consequence of Abductive Search for Traces” was awarded the Herbert Stolzenberg Award for outstanding dissertations in cultural studies in 2012.
After moving into higher education management, he initially held the staff position of the rectorate of the YMCA University and headed the student secretariat. He later moved to the University of Heidelberg as a consultant for studies and teaching, where he performed interface tasks in university management. He then helped develop the system accreditation of the University of Koblenz-Landau in the Quality Management department.
He heads the Quality Management staff unit and is deputy head of the program accreditation department, where he is responsible for the teacher training and theology subject groups.
