130. Meeting of the Accreditation Council
The Accreditation Council convened for its 130th meeting on September 23–24, 2026.
The meeting took place at the Bauhaus University Weimar at the invitation of its Chairperson, Professor Dr.-Ing. Bargstädt. “I was very pleased to welcome the Accreditation Council to Weimar. Our meetings thrive on intensive professional exchange, but also on personal encounters. This made it all the more wonderful to be able to share some of the cultural diversity of the city and its two higher education institutions. In particular, the welcoming remarks by Peter Benz, President of the Bauhaus University, on the freedom of teaching and research in an international context provided important inspiration and set the tone for our working sessions,” says Bargstädt.
The Accreditation Council had before it
- 198 applications for programme accreditation, covering 495 study programmes, as well as
- Twelve applications for system accreditation
for a decision.
In addition, the Accreditation Council adopted a resolution titled“Strategy 2030”(see below).
In addition, the Accreditation Council has adopted a new FAQ on “AI in accreditation” (FAQ 23, see below). It supplements the statement on AI published by the Accreditation Council’s Board.
